Why study environment and geography at York?
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of all of our research. We are committed to eliminating poverty, and providing equity and justice for all. From understanding the patterns and processes underlying physical geography and environmental science, through ecology, to economics, human geography and environmental policy, our research covers a wide spectrum.
We carry out fundamental research to understand the causes and consequences of environmental change. Using this knowledge, we develop solutions to address environmental challenges. We work closely with stakeholders to deliver credible, relevant and contextualised insights that support sustainable transformations and drive social change.
