A New Era for Female Entrepreneurship
The University of York and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) are conducting research to understand the barriers faced by female founders in York and North Yorkshire. The research is looking at how women are overcoming social bias and barriers to business as well as what needs to be done to remove the necessity for continued gender equality conversations over the next decade.
In developing this report specifically for York & North Yorkshire, we hope to address the challenges unique to this region and co-create solution-based approaches.
Ethnic Minority Business Barometer
The Northern Powerhouse (NPH) Ethnic Minority Business and Policy Forum, Enterprise Works at the University of York, and The York Policy Engine are undertaking research in to the challenges and barriers for ethnic minority businesses in the Northern Powerhouse region, to enable greater understanding of the needs of this community and to influence the business support policies targeted at these groups. Findings will be used to create the NPH Ethnic Minority Business Barometer.
The report will contribute to evidence-based policy making and tailored business support. Together, we can drive positive change and create a more inclusive and supportive business environment.
