University of York launches the Enterprise Awards 2024 to celebrate outstanding contributions to York and North Yorkshire's business community

The awards highlight the remarkable talent driving economic growth and social impact in the region, and showcase the outstanding achievements and contributions to the vibrant enterprise ecosystem of York and North Yorkshire. 

Professor Trehan, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement at the University of York, expressed the significance of the Enterprise Awards: "This year’s awards celebrate unwavering spirit of entrepreneurialism, exemplary leadership, and commitment to social responsibility exhibited by businesses and individuals across various sectors. We encourage deserving businesses and individuals who are making a positive difference in their communities and industries to apply and be recognised for their achievements."

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 17th July 2024, at the prestigious Merchant Adventurers Hall, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and change-makers from across the region. The event promises to be an inspiring celebration of excellence, innovation, and impact in the business community.

Andy Callaghan, previous award winner from Jammed, shared his experience: "York is a fantastic place to do business, with ample opportunities for growth and a supportive ecosystem. The University's support has been invaluable, and winning the award last year was a significant boost and really encouraging recognition for my business. I wish all the nominees and entrants the best of luck this year!"

The Enterprise Awards 2024 feature six categories:

• Community Changemaker Award

• One to Watch Award

• Inclusive Business Award

• Purpose Driving Profit Award

Applications are open to any company within the University community, York, or North Yorkshire. Shortlisted applicants will receive complimentary tickets to the awards ceremony, providing an opportunity to network and celebrate with peers and industry leaders.

The deadline for applications is 31st May 2024. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, where they will be honoured for their remarkable achievements and contributions to the business landscape.
