MA Bursary
The Department of English and Related Literature will offer a bursary of 5% of the discounted taught MA tuition fee to alumni who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in the Department.
All MA students who completed their undergraduate degree with the Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York will be eligible for this bursary that amounts to 5% of the MA tuition fee, in addition to the University's 10% graduate loyalty discount. Students who studied either single subject BA English or one of our combined degree programmes are eligible.
All eligible candidates will be considered automatically. The bursary payment is made to the student during Semester One.
Open to International (including EU), International (non-EU) and UK (home) students.
In order to be eligible you must also have an offer for a place on one of the following courses:
- MA English Literary Studies
- MA Film and Literature
- MA Global Literature and Culture
- MA Literature in the Creative and Cultural Industries
- MA Literature of the Romantic Period, 1775-1832
- MA Medieval Literatures and Languages
- MA Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture
- MA Poetry and Poetics
- MA Renaissance Literature, 1500-1700
- MA Victorian Literature and Culture
- MA Queer Studies
To be eligible for this funding opportunity, you must be studying an MA programme in the Department of English and Related Literature and have also successfully completed your undergraduate degree in the department. This could be either the BA English, or one of our combined degrees.
There is no application form required for this bursary. All eligible candidates will be considered automatically.
The bursary amount is paid to the student in one installment, usually around the midpoint of Semester One. We will inform eligible students when they can expect payment.
