The Representation of Disability in English-language Poetry: British and American Perspectives
Supervisor(s):
Dr Alice Hall and Prof Matt Campbell
Description
My PhD thesis project covers Contemporary Disability Poetry from 1975-2017. Modern Disability Poetry originated in United States of America and has recently influenced poetic movements in Britain. The centre of my research will be a literature review of the 2017 British Disability Anthology of Disability Poetry published by Nine Arches Press. I first became interested in Disability while studying my Masters in Denmark and this summer I completed a thesis titled: Normalcy, Institutionalism, and Agency in the Poetical Works of Jim Ferris.
