Thesis Title
The Collaborative Literary Relationship of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
Supervisor(s):
Dr Jim Watt and Prof Harriet Guest
Description
My research project (funded by the AHRC) studies the literary relationship of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, emphasising the reciprocal nature of their collaboration on various works. I focus on the textual connections between the Shelleys’ writings as opposed to a biographical study of their relationship, and I am also particularly interested in manuscripts as evidence of collaborative or collective working. I am also thinking about other literary relationships of the Romantic period, and have published on Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his daughter Sara Coleridge. I have previously studied at the University of Liverpool and Jesus College, University of Cambridge. I won the runner-up Keats-Shelley Essay Prize in 2015.
