Why the global Tudors?

New studies of the Tudors and Stuarts are placing these dynasties -- and British history more broadly -- within a framework of global exchange and migration. Learn to ask new questions about portraits in the National Portrait Gallery's collection, and to think critically about the dynamics of travel, global production, and exchange that informed their creation.
