Join us for a very special Writers at York event, celebrating the success of York PhD student Fiona Mozley’s debut novel, Elmet, which is shortlisted for this year’s Man Booker Prize.
Elmet – the Gothic tale of a family living in rural Yorkshire –has been hailed by critics and described as ‘a clever magnificent achievement’ (TLS) and ‘a quiet explosion of a book, exquisite and unforgettable’ (The Economist) – ‘Hansel and Gretel meets The Godfather’ (The Sunday Times). Fiona grew up in York and is studying for a PhD in Medieval Studies.
Please join us to hear her read and discuss her novel, and to wish her well for the Booker ceremony the following week.
