Warm congratulations to Congratulations to Dr Janine Bradbury on the publication of her debut poetry pamphlet, 'Sometimes Real Love Comes Quick & Easy' (ignitionpress).
Drawing upon her wide-ranging academic research into literature, film, and popular culture, the collection circles around representations of feeling, emotion, and sentimentality. Featuring lodestars of popular culture (including the late great Amy Winehouse, American professional wrestling, and fast food culture), touchstones associated with early motherhood, and responding to cliches of romantic desire, the collection has been described by poet Rachel Long as "tender and astute".
