First novel success for York English Alumna
Posted on 4 March 2019
Warmest congratulations to York English Alumna, Lucinda Smyth, whose first novel, Click, will be published by HarperCollins next month.
Click is a campus-set thriller about the dark side of social media.
Since graduating in 2014, Lucinda has been working as a journalist, writing for the Times Literary Supplement, the Financial Times, Prospect, and other publications, and more recently as a podcast scriptwriter for House of Heath.
Of her time at York, she says, "The English course at York is fantastic. It's both intellectually rigorous and creative, offering a selection of topics so broad that you can specialise in virtually anything you like. I'm especially grateful to three profs: the brilliant Brian Cummings, Bryan Radley and Erica Sheen."
Well done, Lucinda. We are delighted for your success!
