Dr Erica Sheen, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and Related Literature, and leading expert on the reception of Shakespeare in Europe during and after the Cold War, has given public lectures in Vilnius and at Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, in Lithuania.
She recently wrote about 'Shakespeare and the Idea of Europe' for the 'Shakespeare Lives in Lithuania' exhibition, which opened in the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas) in December and has now moved to Kaunas.
Erica participated in the opening ceremony for the exhibition, and was interviewed for Vilnius' cultural journal, 'Kultūros barai”.
