Dr Kevin Killeen and Dr Helen Smith awarded prestigious book prize

Dr Kevin Killeen, and Dr Helen Smith from the Department of English, along with Dr Rachel Willie from Liverpool John Moores University, have been awarded the Roland H. Bainton Prize (for Reference Works) for their book 'The Oxford Handbook of the Bible in Early Modern England, c. 1530-1700' (OUP, 2015).
The prize is awarded by the Council of the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference.
The book, which emerged from the inaugural York Festival of Ideas 2011, contains 40 essays from leading scholars across the globe on the role of the Bible in every aspect of 16th and 17th century life.
