Modern School Reading Group - Temporalities
Event details
The Temporalities reading group meets on the last Thursday of the month in-person at 16:00.
This group aims to explore: how definitions of temporality have been arrived at and differ; how such definitions might inform our interpretive practices; and how the poetic strategies at work in a diverse range of texts might suggest a relationship with temporality?
Each session will focus on a different aspect of temporality through short assigned readings of fiction and critical theory. We will pay close attention to the ways that texts diverge from or resist straightforward relationships with temporality, and the consequences (as well as opportunities) that this brings for reading.
