Writing the Future, the Present, and the Past

Tuesday 7 May 2019, 6.30PM

Please join us for a special Writers at York discussion of 'Writing the Future, the Present, and the Past', focused on the recent explosion of talent in writing for young adults.

The panel will include novelists Fiona Shaw (Outwalkers and Tell It To the Bees) and Tracey Mathias (Night of the Party), along with playwright Mike Kenny (writer of the Olivier-winning adaptation of The Railway Children performed at York Theatre Royal and the National Railway Museum).

Get behind the thinking which has produced award winning literature for young people. Hear from three writers about their inspiration and a discussion of the power of story and why fiction is important for thinking about the challenges of being a future adult.

Hope to see you there!
