Cover Versions: Book Cover Design in a Digital Age

This talk will provide a whistle-stop tour of book cover design from its earliest forms through to the present day. It will address issues around the physical book versus the EBook and will attempt to answer questions that the popularity of the eBook has raised for books and their covers.

Dr John McKay (@mckayinexile) has worked in the book trade for twenty years, he is a committee member of the York Bibliographical Society and 'Cover Versions' is a part of a rolling piece of research into how publishing has reacted to the eBook.
