Professor Shuger is the author of many important books including The Renaissance Bible (1994), and is a former colleague of C.A. Patrides.

The Annual Distinguished Patrides Lecture is sponsored by CREMS, the Department of English and Related Literature and the Distinguished Visitors Fund.
