Literary Yorkshires

The sequel to the successful Literary Yorkshires workshop of January 2015 will take place at King's Manor, York.
The schedule is still to be confirmed but the day will feature short presentations including:
- Matt Townend (York):'The Man Who Wasn't Tolkien: E.R. Eddison, Old Norse, and Heroic Fantasy'
- Kaley Kramer (York St. John): 'The First City of Antiquities: Francis Drake and the "History of York" in the Eighteenth Century'
- Jon Mee (York): 'Literary Yorkshire in the Transpennine Enlightenment, 1819-130: James Montgomery and Co'
- Charlotte Mathison (Newcastle):'Bronte Countries: The Literary Landscapes of Haworth and Brussels in Charlotte Bronte's Legacy'
- Oliver Betts (National Railway Museum):'Our Iron Roads: Technical and Human Railway Literature'
- Alex Beaumont (York St. John):'Melancholy Masculinity in Recent Travel Writing about "The North"'
Award-winning writer Ross Raisin will also be reading from and giving a presentation about his novel God's Own Country (nominated for a Guardian First Book award and winner of a Betty Trask award).
Admission is free and there is no need to pre-register!
