Graduate Conference 2014

Tuesday 20 May 2014, 9.00AM

All day conference, with tea and coffee from 9.00am

The programme (below) reflects the rich variety of graduate research across the Department from MA and PhD students, and promises to be a fascinating and entertaining event.

The plenary address is by Professor Gordon McMullan (KCL) entitled 'Goblin’s Market: Commemoration, Anti-Semitism and the Invention of a ‘Global Shakespeare’ in 1916'. The lecture ties in directly to the current interest in First World War commemoration, as well as coinciding with Shakespeare's 450th birthday. It should appeal to all students of literature, and particularly those with interests in the fields of early modern, modern or global lit.

To be followed by a drinks reception.

Lunch and refreshments provided.

Registration is open to all and free, please email yorkenglishgradcon2014@gmail.com with 'Registration' in the subject line.

Location: Bowland Auditorium, Berrick Saul Building, Heslington West Campus
