We are very pleased to announce the appointment in October of Richard Johnsto the History of Art Department. He will be a very welcome addition to the academic staff at CECS. Richard is at present the Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Royal Museums Greenwich. His research interests encompass all aspects of British art and art culture from the 17th and early 18th centuries, and focuses in particular on grandscale history paintings such as those produced by James Thornhill and his foreign counterparts Antonia Verrio and Louise Laguerre.
