The University runs a voluntary scheme, York Students in Schools (YSIS). This allows any student interested in a career working with children to volunteer in local schools. You can gain experience of mentoring and supporting pupils and working with professional teaching staff to get an insight of what the classroom is like, while doing something that really helps students learn and grow in confidence.
Find out what three of our students say about their own experience of volunteering in schools.
