CPD Courses
Our CPD courses take an in-depth look at MFL curriculum design and pedagogy.
Coming up:
3-part series: Developing practice for the new GCSE - 15th October, 12th November and 10th December 2024
Using expert analysis and practical steps to help all language teachers and leaders approach the new GCSE with confidence, this series of three highly interactive sessions brings together MFL practitioners for rich discussion as we get underway with first teaching of the new GCSE in French, Spanish and German from September 2024.
Resources for the new GCSE: A fresh look at LDP and its synergies with the new Oak National Academy MFL
This interactive course takes a closer look at LDP (Version 2, adapted by Hawkes) resources, refreshed and updated in the light of feedback from classroom practitioners across the country. Building on the KS3 resources, it spotlights the LDP (Version 2) KS4 schemes of work and their alignment with both AQA and Edexcel specifications. We explore this in some of the existing KS4 lesson resources, and we highlight ways forward for KS4 resources and synergies with the Oak National Academy.
Fitting elements of LDP principles into our SOW - 18th November and 2nd December 2024
A two-session workshop to support colleagues working on how to fit elements of LDP principles into their SOW.
Deep Learning and Deep Dives - 6th December 2024
Developing and describing your languages provision. In this session we consider practical ways to ensure that we and all of our colleagues understand and can describe our department’s language vision and practice; the why, what, when and how of our languages teaching and learning. This is not just for Ofsted (!) – it’s about confidence in the classroom, with parents, governors and any wider community stakeholders, too. We will cover the following key areas: Curriculum, Remembering, SEND, Books (folders etc.), Assessment, Behaviour and Professional Development.
MFL Self Study - Curriculum Design and Pedagogy (6 modules)
This asynchronous version of our LDP CPD course has been developed for participants who wish to work flexibly through the modules at a personalised pace.
