York hosts a wide variety of accommodation types, including luxury hotels, bed and breakfast options and hostels. It is worth noting that York is a very popular tourist destination all year round, and especially in the summer months. Delegates are therefore encouraged to book accommodation early.
In terms of choosing on- or off-campus accommodation, there is not much practical difference. The University campus is located approximately two miles outside of the city centre and a good bus service and local taxi companies offer good links between the city and the University. En-suite rooms run by the University of York’s conference office are available. Note that the University is mainly based in Heslington, split between Heslington East and Heslington West. The conference will take place on Heslington East, but the majority of available campus-based accommodation is on Heslington West. A free bus service connects the East and West campuses, or it is a short 15-minute walk.
