I had worked with young people in various capacities throughout my time at University, I enjoyed it and found it very fulfilling. After spending some time working in a school I decided that teaching was the career I wanted to pursue.
I wanted to stay in Yorkshire, as I feel settled in York. The course had a great reputation and offered what I was looking for in my teacher training.
I have learned to integrate theory and practice into my lesson plans under the guidance of my university tutors and school mentors.
Try and get experience in a variety of schools before you apply - so you have the chance to really experience what it will be like to work in a school.
