I studied politics with international relations at York because I wanted to make a difference and help people. When I thought about those I wanted to help, I realised my aim was to open opportunity to all and support people in succeeding. Teaching provides me with the rewarding outcome of knowing I have made a difference to a person's life and helped society for the better overall.
I chose to continue training with The University of York as I fell in love with the city during my undergraduate degree. It is safe, vibrant and beautiful and somewhere I would always like to be associated with. The University, academically is outstanding with excellent grades and support with fantastic reviews of their teaching programme. And also I couldn't think of a better place to teach history than York!
I really enjoy the way that my particular consortium 'Pathfinder' means that not only are we supported via university and our placement schools we are also collaborating with Archbishop Holgate School. Knowing we have this strong interlinking support system, as well as a plethora of experts who can guide us, is extremely reassuring and allows us to work confidently.
I would highly recommend York as a firm choice for them. I have total confidence in those training me, due to their expertise, unbelievable commitment to us and an outstanding success rate. I couldn't imagine studying anywhere else; I know that this is the perfect option for me. I am certain that as long as I follow the outlines that have been set for me, I am sure to be the excellent teacher. Also teaching history in York is such a fantastic opportunity; there are very few other places in Britain where you can really convey to the pupils the exciting history around them as you can here!
