I am a Research Associate for the Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education (YCEDE) project in the Department.
Prior to my doctorate in Education and international development. I have several years of experience in the research, monitoring and evaluation of large-scale donor funded projects in various countries. Prior to my current role, I taught and supervised undergrad and Masters’ students in education.
My research interests include widening participation; education and social justice; education systems and management in global contexts; and research ethics and decolonial methodologies. I am particularly interested in the intersections of research and practice and what this means for research conception and evidence generation and uptake.
I am currently working on the OfD and Research England funded Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education (YCEDE), a collaboration between five Yorkshire universities and multiple DTPs and CDTs to improve access to doctoral study for graduates from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
I am a co-convenor for the BERA Research Methodologies in Education (RME) special interest group.
I am also a member of the British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE) and an executive committee member of The Education and Development Forum (UKFIET).
