English teacher Ryan Eskrett ran a competition within the school's English Department to find 15 keen writers from Years 7, 8 and 9 to work on a one-to-one basis with Education students.
Education lecturer Dr Clementine Beauvais, who is a successful author of children's fiction, ran a workshop on Flash Fiction. The pupils then wrote their stories, working with the undergraduates.
The module, run by Dr Amanda Naylor, offers an opportunity for undergraduates to write creatively as part of their assessment. The workshop offered them an opportunity to try out their literary skills and work collaboratively with young writers.
