The Department  of Education at the University of York invites Home/EU students to apply for a Departmental PhD studentship.

This comprises a stipend of £13,500 per year, payable for three years, together with a waiver of the tuition fees.  In order to be considered for this studentship, you first need to apply to the department for a place on the PhD in Education programme using the University’s online application form.  This will involve including a research proposal of approximately 1,500 words in length outlining your proposed research study.

We have particular research strengths in our four research centres: the Centre for Innovation and Research in Science Education (CIRSE); the Centre for Research on Education and Social Justice (CRESJ); the Centre for Language Learning Research (CLLR); and the Psychology in Education Research Centre (PERC). Applicants must locate their proposed research study in one of these four research centres.

If you are successful in being offered a place you should then email the programme leader, Professor Chris Kyriacou (chris.kyriacou@york.ac.uk) and ask to be considered for the studentship award.  Only those who have been offered a place and asked to be considered for a studentship award by 21 August 2014 will be considered.
