CRESJ Summer Seminar 2014

Researchers gathered in the Department of Education on 17 June for the annual Centre for Research in Education and Social Justice (CRESJ) summer seminar. The seminar entitled “The Possibilities of using Secondary Quantitative Data in Education Research” provided an opportunity for attendees to discuss their own use of this research approach and to listen to presentations by Professor Emma Smith (University of Leicester) and Tina Rampino (University of Essex).
A wide range of large-scale datasets were highlighted and discussed along with different approaches and techniques for handing and analysing the data. The event was co-sponsored by the Educational Research and Educational Policy-making special interest group from the British Educational Research Association.
