Conversation analysis across cultures

The Department of Education contributed to a Conversation Analysis Summer School, part of the White Rose Doctoral Training College training series.
Dr Beatrice Szczepek Reed taught specialist sessions on cross-cultural features of turn-taking, as part of the intensive
5 day course, intended to develop the analytic skills of PhD and early career researchers and practitioners using conversation analysis in their own research.
The summer school, run by
Professor Celia Kitzinger (University of York) and
Professor Ray Wilkinson (University of Sheffield), included delegates from White Rose universities and other institutions across the UK, in addition to students from different universities in Europe and America.
