Education students are participating in a pioneering programme of volunteering and enrichment activity, which takes them into a range of community settings to enhance the educational experiences of pupils, young people and adults in York. The programme is organised by the Department of Education in collaboration with the University's Community and Volunteering Unit.
Students are participating in ten projects based in the local community and are working with community partners over a 4-week period. Our students are working in churches, community centres, outdoors, with disabled young people, with refugees, and in schools. Each project team is blogging about their experiences and you can read about their work here: www.volunteeringandenrichment.blogspot.com.
