Please be aware that we are only able to support one application this round.
These fellowships are aimed at early career researchers with a strong research record who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post. The objective is for Fellows to undertake a significant piece of publishable research during the tenure of the award, and the project put forward should therefore not be a reworking or mere extension of the candidate’s doctoral research project.
The Leverhulme Trust selects projects to support based on the following criteria which should be considered when putting together your expression of interest:
Please see Leverhulme’s website for more details of the scheme and to check your eligibility: Early Career Fellowships | The Leverhulme Trust
We are limited in the number of applications we can put forward to the Leverhulme Trust and, in addition to the assessing the excellence of the proposed research project, will prioritise candidates who can demonstrate high levels of research independence and experience post-PhD, as well as those with a strong fit to the department’s existing research interests (see Research - Education, University of York).
You should identify a suitable mentor for your project from within the department’s research staff (see Academic, research and teaching staff - Education, University of York). You will need to approach your proposed mentor and ask them to complete the mentor’s statement on the EoI form before you can submit your expression of interest to the department.
Interested applicants should complete the Expression of Interest form and return it to education-research-admin@york.ac.uk by 12 noon on Monday 25 November 2024. This EoI form will be used as the basis on which the department will decide whether they can support your application. Applicants will be informed of the department’s decision by Thursday 5 December. If invited to submit a full proposal we will work closely with you to meet the internal university deadlines for submission.
