Erin Shannon presented a paper at the Gender and Education Association (GEA) annual conference titled About face: Identities, In/visibilities, Inequalities, and Intersections in Education, held from 25-27 June 2019, at the University of Portsmouth. In her presentation titled ‘English and American University Responses to Student Disclosures of Sexual Violence’, Erin shared some initial findings from her thesis about the role that reputation plays in how universities in England and the US respond to sexual violence.
Agata Lambrechts attended the British Educational Research Association (BERA) conference at the University of Manchester, 10-12 September 2019. She presented her research on issues related to HE access for students with refugee background in England titled, 'The super-disadvantaged in England's higher education. Barriers to access and success as perceived and experienced by participants and non-participants with refugee background’.
Earlier in the month, Agata co-facilitated a workshop on the role of university-community partnerships in creating a culture of welcome in England, as part of the first Universities of Sanctuary Conference, held on 4 September 2019 at York St John University.
Caroline Casey was an invited speaker at How do different HE institutions address graduate employability, SRHE Employability Network event in London, on 13 September 2019, presenting her research on Degree apprenticeships pathways to professional occupations in England.
Caroline has also presented her paper at the Inequality and Organisations: Paper Development Masterclass run by York Management School on 20 September 2019. We wish Caroline good luck in writing up of the paper.
