Paul's talk on 26 July, 'What is postgraduate widening participation and what does it mean for postgraduate officers?', highlighted some of the obstacles that students of different backgrounds can face with regards to coming to university, but also placed an emphasis on what it means in a postgraduate context.
Postgraduate students make up almost a quarter of all students in the UK, but are often underrepresented or overlooked. This conference aimed to ensure that Students’ Unions around the country are equipped to represent them.
