Professor Chris Kyriacou retires

Head of Department, Paul Wakeling's words of thanks to Chris were followed by a lighthearted reflection by Chris on his time at York. The large gathering of past and current staff and students who attended then witnessed a presentation of a number of gifts to Chris. These included of a set of crystal cut wine glasses, an amazing collage of staff past and present put together by Professor Judith Bennett with the help of many colleagues, and a retirement cake covered with a painting of Chris printed on rice paper (which Chris then had to cut into!). An easy going Jazz band added to the occasion.
Chris said a few days afterwards "I am still on cloud nine, and cannot believe the work that has gone into this event, and the expressions of warmth and appreciation I received."
