Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Department of Education and the Research Institute for Japan, Hiroshima University.

On Friday 24 February, the Department welcomed Professor Yumiko Hada, Dr. Ryo Sasaki, and Dr. Yuki Yamaguchi from the Research Institute for Japan, the UK and Europe (RIJUE), Hiroshima University.

The seminar explored the work of RIJUE and the four research centres of the Department of Education, and considered next steps for the collaboration. RIJUE are interested in the possibility of joint funding applications, facilitating networks, and exchanges (i.e. hosting staff and students in Hiroshima). The principal focus of RIJUE is on higher education research on which theme Japanese colleagues have established links with other UK universities. 

The seminar closed with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between by Professor Hada and Dr. Beatrice Szczepek-Reed.
