Nashia Zaman is an integrated PhD student in the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York. Her research interests include resource economics, international trade and development economics. Her supervisor is Dr. Paola Zerilli. Nashia successfully completed her Masters and Bachelors in Economics at the University of Dhaka.
Nashia is an Assistant Professor (currently on study-leave) of Economics in the Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Nashia was a lecturer at Economics at Jagannath University and United International University. With a scholarship from Japan Foundation, she attended a short-term course on Japanese business and economy at Sophina University, Tokyo. She has also worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for Policy Dialogue and Economic Research Group. Nashia has been engaged with various research projects with the Ministry of Education of Government of Bangladesh and other research organisations.
Nashia was the course instructor of various courses during her teaching career, noteworthy courses include Principles of Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, Business and Communication, Industrial development of Japan, Trade policy of Japan, Modernization and Economic development of Japan, Environmental issues and Concerns of Japan and Industrial Economics.
