Speaker(s): Patrica Wareh (Union College, New York)
This research seminar will explore the overlap between Spenser’s, Castiglione’s, and Shakespeare’s texts in that all require the active response of readers and audiences; at the same time, it will consider how Love’s Labour’s Lost engages with and satirizes Castiglione’s vision of moral education through courteous recreation.
Pattie Wareh is associate professor of English at Union College (Schenectady, NY). Her work on Spenser and Shakespeare has appeared in Modern Philology and Renaissance Drama, and she is currently at work on a book-length project on the relationship between the two authors.
