With Lenten times looming, the Cabinet of Curiosities warmly invites you to sate your stomachs and minds at our early modern potluck dinner and play reading.
In order to take advantage of fuller kitchen facilities we'll be feasting at Claire Canavan's house in Fulford - directions to follow at a later date. All you need to bring is yourself and some food. All dishes are welcome, sweet and/or savoury, and there'll be the opportunity to heat things up when you arrive.
For those feeling adventurous, we encourage you to try an early modern recipe (although please note that this is entirely optional!) Matilda Marshall, CREMS alumna and chef extraordinaire, has very kindly produced a blogpost with advice on early modern recipe sources and practical tips which you can access here
http://admiralsmallhat.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/how-to-cook-early-modern-recipes.html.
If you'd like further advice, please email curiositycabinet2010@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help!
Whilst tucking into one another's food we'll be sampling the delights of Gallobelgicus' suitably gustatory drama Wine, Beer, Ale and Tobacco Contending for Superiority.
If you'd like to come, please RSVP by noon on Wednesday 6th February, telling us if you've got any allergies and, preferably, letting us know what you'll be bringing.
We look forward to seeing you there!
