The event will take place at 2.15 on Friday 25th May, in B/S008 (Humanities Research Centre, University of York). All are welcome.
Dr Hunt's work on Elizabethan and Jacobean sermon culture has transformed our understanding of popular religion, and the points of connection between intense theological debate and the theatrical performances of popular preachers. In conversation, with Arnold, we will discuss his chapter from the recently-published Oxford Handbook to the Early Modern Sermon, as well as new work-in-progress which tells the intriguing story of a woman convert to Catholisicm, and her participation in intense -- and public -- debate. For copies of the documents, please contact Helen Smith (helen.smith@york.ac.uk).
