He is a member of a NICE technology appraisal committee and an associate editor for the Systematic Reviews journal.
His main research interests are in improving systematic review methods, particularly with respect to assessment of study biases.
In 2019 he completed a PhD entitled Quality assessment of healthcare intervention studies in systematic reviews: improving established tools and approaches for context-specific assessments.
