A new and improved PROSPERO website has been launched!

Posted on 7 March 2025

Since 2011, PROSPERO, the world’s first prospective register of systematic reviews, has been registering systematic reviews relating to health and social care. Funded by the NIHR since inception, PROSPERO has been a thriving resource for over a decade. It has been instrumental in promoting transparency, helping safeguard against bias and unintended duplication and research waste. PROSPERO currently has over 325,000 registration records.

To keep up with growing demand, incorporate technological advances and improve functionality and user experience, with the support of its international advisory group, PROSPERO has been completely redesigned.

PROSPERO’s new site offers a slicker, simpler and easier to navigate website with improved functionality. New features have been introduced to improve the registration process and all submissions will be published automatically after checking and approval by all record authors. It will also be easier to search PROSPERO and easier to identify existing similar systematic reviews. Advanced automatic processing is also in place to improve the time it takes for records to be processed.
