Developing patient and public involvement in research is important for CRD's mission to improve the quality of healthcare research. Dr Bob Phillips, Senior Clinical Academic and NIHR Postdoctoral Fellow, delivered a plenary talk to children and young people at the iCAN Research and Advocacy Summit on 10th July in Edinburgh. The Summit is an international gathering, bringing together the next wave of researchers with children, young people and their families to improve child health, medicine and research.
Bob has developed a collaborative approach to involving children and young people in research which has been recognised in the NIHR 'Lets Get Digital' competition in 2018, winning the photo competition and shortlisted in the video category. His engagement work also includes films for the Teenage Cancer Trust on a variety of research and health topics https://jtvcancersupport.com/?s=phillips
