iCAN Research & Advocacy Summit

Developing patient and public involvement in research is important for CRD's mission to improve the quality of healthcare research. Dr Bob Phillips, Senior Clinical Academic and NIHR Postdoctoral Fellow, delivered a plenary talk to children and young people at the iCAN Research and Advocacy Summit on 10th July in Edinburgh. The Summit is an international gathering, bringing together the next wave of researchers with children, young people and their families to improve child health, medicine and research.

Introduction to Systematic Reviews & Critical Appraisal Course, 4th – 6th June 2018

Last month, CRD welcomed 25 delegates from across the UK and Europe to the three day course Introduction to Systematic Reviews & Critical Appraisal. The course was held in the Conference Suite at York Science Park where delegates spent the best part of a week learning about the systematic review process.

Interventions for complex trauma & upcoming Research Prioritisation Day #INCiTEstudy

For the last year CRD has joined with international collaborators at the University of Verona and partnered with MHARG, the University of Manchester and The Retreat Hospital in York to undertake an ambitious systematic review - INterventions for Complex Traumatic Events (INCiTE) - funded by NIHR Health Technology Assessment programme. This is the first review of its kind to attempt to synthesise data about the clinical effectiveness and acceptability of psychological and/or pharmacological treatments for people exposed to complex traumatic events.

CRD presents EPPPIC results

Preliminary results of the Evaluating Progestogens for Prevention of Preterm Birth International Collaborative (EPPPIC) individual participant data meta-analysis were presented to collaborators at a dedicated meeting on May 15th, just prior to the 3rd European Spontaneous Preterm Birth Congress, in Edinburgh.

NIHR funded Systematic Review Training Fellowship
