This is a tremendous accolade awarded to only 15 researchers in the world this year and relates to the work Jess has done on how we manage children with cancer when they get a temperature, and in particular, whether children who we know to be at low risk of infectious complication can be managed with an earlier discharge from hospital.
The award included funding to attend the SIOP annual meeting which was held in Cape Town in October and attracted over 1500 delegates. Jess presented her work to the international audience and was able to attend various sessions set up specifically for Young Investigators.
