Project selection

Part-time students begin work on their projects with PRCE in June of their second year (SS/2) and continue through year 3 with PRCP.

Full-time students start PMCE in March of their year of study (S2/5) and continue through the Summer Semester with PRCM.

Project selection for all students commences in January (S1/13).

Projects can be selected through the project selection database which is accessed through the Computer Science Teaching Portal. Students can rank any number of projects and advisors can then order students. Because of this, students are strongly recommended to discuss a project with its setter before choosing it (We recommend that you email the project setter to arrange an appointment for a discussion).

Commonly, a student may wish to propose their own project. All such projects must be adopted by an academic member of staff in the Department of Computer Science at York, and they will collaborate on the content and presentation of the proposal.
