Student projects

Postgraduate taught students: all MSc courses (except SCSE)

If you are undertaking assessments during the MSc Resit Period (either reassessments or sit as if for the first time), you should continue with your ISM Project work until the results of these assessments are known. Any MSc student taking assessments during this period can apply for an extension of up to 10 working days to their ISM Project submission. This is not automatic - you must apply using the extension request system nearer your project submission time. If you need to apply for an ISM Project extension, put "resit and/or sit" as the evidence or proof and it will be approved.

Supervision arrangements

  • Block 1. SS/1 - SS/4
  • Block 2. SS/5 - SS/9
  • Block 3. SS/10 - SS/13

Each of these blocks should have 1-2 hours of supervision meetings, in order to ensure that the meetings are evenly distributed over the Summer Semester. The schedule should include agreed project milestones with supervisor feedback. Please take account of staff and student vacation time when planning the supervision schedule.

Format and submission

Students on MSc Advanced Computer Science, MSc Cyber Security, MSc AI, and MSc Human-Centred Interactive Technologies should submit a project report according to the formatting specification for their programme:
