Monday 20 November 2023, 1.00PM to 3.30pm
Join us for the introductory session of the ALBERT YorRobots Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT), where you will be able to learn about our doctoral training programme in Autonomous Robotic Systems for Laboratory Experiments. This is an opportunity to know more about the PhD projects and funding on offer from leading researchers in the area and to hear first-hand about the experience of studying at the University of York.
ALBERT is a doctoral programme that aims to address the development of laboratory robots that manage cleaner, greener, cheaper, and safer experiments. For example, a major challenge in Chemistry is to build a machine that can synthesise any organic compound. Current state-of-the-art robots are expensive and have limited capabilities.
In this programme, PhD students will develop the science, engineering, and socio-technology that will underpin robots for laboratory automation for Chemistry and related sciences. We take a multidisciplinary approach, covering Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology, and Sociology aspects of the problem.
Applications for the programme will open in November with a deadline of 5 January 2024. For further information on application requirements and funding please consult our website.
