Communal areas
Our communal areas are open to Halifax College members to hang out in and enjoy.
Relax in comfy seating, connect to the wifi and make use of the amenities listed below.
St Lawrence Common room
St Lawrence Common Room can be found (you guessed it), near the St Lawrence Court accommodation blocks. It’s a great space to hang out with a few friends, feels like a large living room and can be used to host your own little cinema too!
Inside you'll find a large screen with HDMI and VGA connection, a large TV and a small kitchen area.
JJ’s Common Room
JJ’s is the biggest common room on campus, fit for the biggest college! Situated near to the Halifax College Reception Building, it contains an array of facilities and makes for a great space for larger gatherings, celebrations and parties.
Inside you'll find a pool table, foosball table, table tennis table, air hockey and dart board, as well as a large TV and large screen with HDMI and VGA connection.
JJ’s is also home to the Wood Suite which contains an upright piano and space to chill and watch TV
Halifax computer room and classroom
Our College Computer Room is located on the top floor of the Reception Building. It has approximately 30 networked PCs and a printer. The room is accessible 24 hours a day using your key card.
The College Classroom is located on the first floor of the Reception building and can be booked out by students for study sessions.
There is a large TV to use with a laptop or DVD player using a HDMI connection.
The Allotment
In keeping with our village identity, we have a student-run allotment in Halifax. Located next to the launderette, we try to make sure there's something you can harvest all year round.
