Find out where you can park on arrivals day for Derwent College.
Parking information for Sunday 15 September
New undergraduate students living on campus will arrive into Derwent on Sunday 15 September. The locations referenced below can all be found on our arrivals map.
If you were asked to book an arrivals slot when confirming your room offer, please make sure to arrive during this time to help us reduce the likelihood of congestion on the day.
- Collect your room keycard and student ID from the Spring Lane Building. Please make your way to the Central car park at the entrance to the Spring Lane Building. On your arrival, make your way to the reception desk situated inside the Spring Lane Building to collect your student ID card and accommodation keys. At this point, please do not unpack your car.
- If you are arriving by public transport, you will be directed to an area where you can leave your luggage whilst you collect your student card and keys.
- Meet your STYCs. Once you have collected all of your necessary items, you will be assigned a Second and Third Year Contact (STYC) who will help you with the process of unloading your car and moving your luggage into your accommodation. Look out for their blue or burgundy STYC t-shirts!
- Follow your block specific instructions below. Your next steps will vary depending on which part of Derwent you will be moving into. If you aren’t sure which block you’re in, please check your accommodation offer.
Block dependent instructions:
- Head to the Derwent reception area ‘drop-off’ zone. Members of our team will be on hand to direct you. Due to the limited number of space available, drivers will need to move their vehicles from this drop-off point as soon as possible.
- Move your car to the Science Park car park. Once you have unloaded your luggage, drivers will then need to move their vehicles to the long stay car park at the Science Park and walk back to Derwent (approximately a 5-10 minute walk away).
- Head to the WACL car park to drop off your luggage. Due to the number of students moving into Derwent on the day, you will be given a 20 minute time slot to unload your belongings.
- Move your car to the Science Park car park. Once you have unloaded your luggage, drivers will then need to move their vehicles to the long stay car park at the Science Park and return to Derwent on foot (approximately a 5-10 minute walk away).
- Stay in the Central Car Park. Your vehicle can remain here while you unload your belongings. Due to the number of students arriving on the day, you will be given a 30 minute time slot to do this.
- Move your car to the Science Park car park. Once you have unloaded your luggage, drivers will then need to move their vehicles to the long stay car park at the Science Park and return to Derwent on foot (approximately a 5-10 minute walk away).
- Head to the Eden Court car park. Due to the number of students moving into Derwent on the day, you will be given a 30 minute time slot to unload your belongings.
- Move your car to The Stables car park. Once you have unloaded your luggage drivers then need to move vehicles to the long stay car park at The Stables, and return back to Eden Court on foot.
