Mail

Letters are stored in the mail room which you can access with your keycard, or be let in by staff upon showing your Student ID. Letters are sorted alphabetically by surname, while unnamed post is put on the table.

Parcels are kept at your nearest Reception. You’ll get an email when it’s ready for collection -  don’t forget to bring your student ID.

Any letters, parcels or takeaways should be sent to the following address. If you include Derwent College in the delivery address then it can be collected from the car park in front of the entrance.

Communal areas

Aside from some of our other study and social spaces, Derwent has a General Common Room, Junior Common Room and Senior Common Room available for college members to use, meet up in and enjoy.

What's near?

  • Food and drink: Your nearest places for a drink or bite to eat are D Bar and The Courtyard, both are within the college grounds.
  • The York Sport Sports Centre is just a 10 minute walk away and is home to a gym and courts for racquet sports.
  • Market square is just a five minutes walk away and is home to a NISA grocery store.
  • The Library is a short 6 minutes walk away.
